ACBA members recommend all twelve judges for retention

This year, twelve incumbent Allegheny County judges are serving the final year of their election terms and will face the electorate in the November General Election in a “YES – NO” retention election. The Allegheny County Bar Association conducted a poll during the spring, asking its members to indicate whether each Allegheny County judicial candidate running for retention should be “recommended” or “not recommended” for retention. All of the Allegheny County judges who were on the ballot received very strong support from bar association membership – each receiving a “recommended” rating – and as a result, the ACBA is recommending all twelve for retention.

The ACBA Judicial Retention Election Campaign is funded by the ACBA Judicial Excellence Committee PAC through non-dues contributions from members and law firm political action committees. It is intended to preserve the nonpartisan nature of retention elections.
